A sound wave travels at a speed of 339 ms–1. If it’s wavelength is 1.5 cm, what is the frequency of the wave? Will it be audible?
Here v = 339 m/s., λ= 1.5 cm = 1.5 × 10–2m, V = ?
We know that, V = v / λ
V = 339 / (1.5 X 10-2)
V = 22600 Hz
It is not audible to the human ear, because the audible limit is 20,000 Hz
