Question:

Which type of cell division is required for growth and repair of body and which type is involved in formation of gametes?

Answer:

Cell division is the sequential process by which a single cell divides into two daughter cells.

The mitotic phase

Due to its ability to create a perfect replica of the preceding cell, it is often referred to as equational division.
Both the quantity of DNA and the number of chromosomes in a species never change.
This type of cell division, which increases the size of a particular bodily part by adding identical cells, is necessary for the body's growth and repair.
Mitosis is the process by which damaged cell areas are repaired in cases of injury.

Meiosis

Because the number of chromosomes decreases to half during this form of division, it is also referred to as the reductional division.
It is capable of producing gametes since these cells must be haploid in order to fuse together to produce a diploid zygote that will give birth to a new child.
