1. Why does the colour of copper sulphate solution change when an iron nail is dipped in it?

Question:

Why does the colour of copper sulphate solution change when an iron nail is dipped in it?

Answer:

Because iron is a more reactive element than copper in this reaction. For this reason, they displace copper from its compound. Therefore, the color of the iron nail becomes brown and the color of the solution of copper sulphate becomes light blue.
