How to score good marks in Class 10 & 12 Board Exam? : General Tips

Most of the students get stressed during the time of exams. A study conducted by the Department of Pediatrics, shows that before a month of exams, only 13% of students have high stress, and a week before the exam around 82% of students get high stress. So, here are 3 tips which you must follow.

1. Give yourself enough time to prepare.

Create plan to complete syllabus on time

At exam time if you think that you do not have enough time to complete your preparation. This happens because you do not start your preparation on time and now you’re running out of time. This situation might catch you under the stress of examination.

Most of the time, students do not take notes because they assume they will remember things forever (which is not true). We should focus on learning and relearning again so that we can recall every piece of information when we need it.

According to an article by the New York Times, cramming will help you to remember information only if your exam is tomorrow, later if you see that information, it feels you never saw it.

2. How to take time for study, rather than cramming?

  1. Organise your time and plan the hours and block them only for your study
  2. Prepare notes on a regular basis, it will help in the process of transferring information from short-term memory to long-term memory.
  3. Keep interacting with content in a timely manner, after a first study, reread the information within 24 hours, and then once a week, and once a month. This will help you to store 100% information.

3. Eat healthy food & drink plenty of water.

As fuel is important for cars, similarly food is important for our body. Mainly Glucose! How? Let’s check. During exams or even in preparation times, our body should work properly, especially our brain.

To charge up the brain it needs glucose - a type of sugar. The body takes glucose from food we eat, so it is crucial to eat healthy food for better working of our brain.

As per the study done by Dr Lisa Smithers (Paediatric Surgeon), students who eat junk food when they are toddler have lesser IQ than those who eat fresh food such as fruits, vegetables, and milk. These changes can be observed in a child when they reach the age of eight years

Now students have a reason to add super food in their diet. Also drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day. It will help to reduce dehydration, which can affect you mentally and physically.
