The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) will introduce five new subjects—Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Applied Mathematics, Modern English, and Bhutia Language—for Classes 11 and 12 starting from the 2025 academic year.

To equip students with essential 21st-century skills, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has added six new subjects to its curriculum from the 2025 academic session. Five of these—Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Applied Mathematics, Modern English, and Bhutia Language—will be available for Classes 11 and 12. Additionally, Bhutia Language will be introduced for Classes 9 and 10.

Previously offered as a single subject, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence will now be taught separately for ISC students. This change allows students to choose these subjects along with Computer Science, providing them with a strong foundation and better career prospects in technology fields.

Applied Mathematics and Modern English serve as alternative options to core Mathematics and standard English, focusing on practical applications.

Applied Mathematics is designed for students pursuing non-STEM fields, with an emphasis on financial mathematics, statistics, and data analysis. Meanwhile, Modern English focuses on functional communication, contemporary language usage, and practical linguistic skills, helping students develop real-world proficiency in the language.
