CBSE to restore the single Board pattern for the 2022-23 academic session. Syllabus likely to remain reduced.

Exclusive update on the 2022-23 paper pattern–the Term-based paper pattern is going to be discontinued. As per a CBSE official’s statement, “CBSE never announced that the two-term exam format will be continued henceforth. It was a one-time formula. Now that schools are functioning in full capacity, the decision, for now, is to stick to the one-time exam format.”

With respect to the syllabus, it was also mentioned “The NCERT will send us the details of rationalisation based on which an announcement will be made. Schools can teach the reduced syllabus using the existing books.”

So, here are the main pointers concluded from these statements.

  • Single board pattern will be restored for the academic session 2022-23 of CBSE Class 10 and 12;
  • syllabus will still be reduced by 30% and is currently awaited for final changes from NCERT; and
  • term-based bifurcation of the syllabus will not be followed anymore.
