5. How does food transfer in a plant?

Question:

How does food transfer in a plant?

Answer:

The plant's phloem system, which consists of parenchyma, fibres, sieve tubes, and companion cells, is responsible for transporting food materials from the leaves to other parts of the plant. This process is referred to as translocation. Food is transported through the phloem by using the energy from ATP molecules It also helps in creating osmotic pressure and a concentration gradient that allows food to move from a region of greater concentration to one of lower concentration.
